At TKLA High School we offer a unique and robust learning community with the rich academic and co-curricular opportunities of a comprehensive high school intertwined with the personal connections and community support of our Small Learning Communities. Our expert staff at TKLA works tirelessly to build and sustain our school community that promotes personal connections, inquiry, agile minds and determination. This is achieved through innovative instructional practices and programming that are student-centred, project-based, relevant to student experiences and applicable in the real world.
True to our motto, “Preparing learners for Life”, the philosophy of the High School is to effectively prepare learners for the challenges and opportunities that they will face after school. Academics always comes first, but focus is also placed on cultural, sport and other enrichment activities.
As head boy, not only I'm I going to use my title and my light to inspire, motivate and uplift but I am going to use it for the betterment of the school and that of the community at large. I want to create a harmonious environment where the school, teachers, learners and even parents could work even better together. Most importantly, I am going to make sure my light shines so that each and every single learner of our school could be heard, appreciated and given the opportunity to grow.
I believes in being the change we want to see and creating the world we want to live in. In 2023, I hope to inspire all the students of Tersia King Learning Academy to believe in and use their ability to bring positive change of any magnitude to their environment for the good of themselves and those around them, both within the school and beyond.
Extra-mural sport coaching in the afternoons is provided as part of the school’s educational programme.
